Helping Pet Rescue Organisations

Animal Rescue NZ

I am a proud mom of two rescue dogs. I love reading stories and watching videos of those who are able to do the same. I know adopting an animal is not for everyone and that is perfectly ok, but I have a special place in my heart for those who can.

I also have a great deal of respect and admiration for those who run or work for an organisation that rescues animals. Let's be honest, while it definitely takes someone who has a lot of love, they also have to have a lot of patience and fortitude. The costs associated with housing, feeding, re-homing, the animals along with getting them the medical care they need has to be high. I would also assume it's a very emotional job, well I know it would be for me.

One of my objectives for Score One is to be a sponsor or donor to an animal welfare organisation. That's why starting January 2018, we will be donating $1 from every sale to one animal welfare organisation in New Zealand. And I am committed to to donating a dollar no matter the cost of the item, even if it's one that is Free+shipping.

When it comes to giving a portion of our sales over to an organisation, that's easy. The difficult decision is choosing an organisation. There are quite a few that work locally or only in certain regions. While they do excellent work, I think it would be best if we were to look at those that are either national or the associate themselves with other organisations across the country.

I would like to ask for your opinion. Do you have an opinion on which organisation you feel we should consider? If so, leave a comment and tell us who and why. We hope to make a decision and announcement within the next few weeks so everyone who shops with us, knows they are a part of something bigger.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
